Tommy Morris is a program officer at The California Wellness Foundation for the Community Well-being and Leading for Power and Change portfolios. In his role, he reviews grant proposals, conducts site visits, and makes funding recommendations.
With a background as a community organizer and policy advocate, coupled with his personal lived experiences, Morris brings a deep commitment to social justice issues such as community safety, mental wellness and environmental racism. Prior to joining Cal Wellness, he served as executive assistant for the Anti Recidivism Coalition, was Roy and Patricia Disney Family Foundation’s first Philanthropy Fellow, and most recently led day to day operations for Liberty Hill Foundation’s California Funders for Boys and Men of Color Portfolio. Morris has a proven track record of bridging the gap between philanthropy and grassroots organizations, while fostering relationships amongst community, foundation and corporate partners.
