Theresa Esparrago Lieu is senior learning officer for The California Wellness Foundation. In this role, Esparrago Lieu helps implement Cal Wellness’ learning agenda, supports internal learning and reflection cycles, and builds Cal Wellness’ evaluative thinking practices to help the foundation understand progress on our goals.
Prior to joining Cal Wellness, she worked at College Futures Foundation where she served as strategic learning officer and established a strategic learning infrastructure -- leveraging data, research, and insights to inform decisions about strategy refinement, execution and reflection. She also brings over a decade’s worth of experience in consulting, learning, and philanthropy, and worked at Informing Change and ConnectED: The National Center for College and Career. Esparrago Lieu is passionate about cultivating a culture of continuous learning, driving organizational improvement through data, and fostering collaboration across teams.
She received an MA in Sociology of Education from the New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development and a BA in Sociology with a minor in Asian American studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
