Gail Yen is a program officer at The California Wellness Foundation. As a child of immigrant parents and a former foster youth, Yen has a lifelong commitment to change systems alongside those most impacted by inequities and community-based organizations. Previously, Yen was the California Policy Director at Root & Rebound, the Senior Policy and Research Analyst at California Competes, the Health Policy Associate at Children Now, and a fellow for Assemblymember Rich Gordon.
Yen has a Bachelor's in Sociology from Union College and a Master's in Education Policy from the University of Washington. Yen serves as a mentor for Richmond Promise Scholars, and the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project. She was the President of the board of California Youth Connection.
