March 22, 2024—Despite being the largest community of color in the nation, the Latino community has long faced systemic, structural barriers to accessing power. A $650,000 grant to the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute will support efforts to provide reliable and accessible data on Latino communities, inform evidence-based policy interventions, and train aspiring Latino leaders.
We are thrilled to partner with UCLA LPPI as they champion solutions to strengthen the voice of, and expand opportunities for, the Latino community.
About the California Wellness Foundation
With $1 billion in assets, Cal Wellness is one of the state’s largest public health philanthropies. The foundation awards approximately $50 million annually in grants and program-related investments that promote health equity, justice and advocacy for communities and individuals whose lives and wellness are too often determined by their race, income, immigration status or where they live.
